Things To Be Happy About // 02

Thursday, August 11, 2016

Today is another day that calls for reflection and appreciation. I've had another rough week, so I want to take some time to bring it back to the positives.

ONE. Family summer vacations. My family and I have taken a summer trip every year for my entire life, but I know that not all families do that, or are able to. Being able to travel to new places with my family is something to be grateful for.

TWO. I'm so happy to have exceeded my reading goal for the year just seven months in! When I resolved in January to read more, and set a target of 12 books by the end of 2016, I thought it would be more of a challenge than it ended up to be. I've really enjoyed building up that "read" list.

THREE. Whenever something goes wrong with my car, I know that my dad's help is always just a text away (which is a GREAT stress-reliever considering I know next to nothing about cars). And when I realize I'm 23 and don't know how to do laundry or properly clean something, my mom is always available to help too.

FOUR. Speaking of help, I am also SO thankful for my boyfriend lending a hand in cleaning up around my apartment. It's not his responsibility since he doesn't live with me, but he will usually help out with vacuuming or washing dishes when he is around on the weekends.

FIVE. Genuinely good people. Believe it or not, it is possible for someone to be a good friend but not be a good person. To me, it's important for a person to be both. So I am happy about the honest, loving, kind, and understanding people in my life and in this world. Those are key qualities.

SIX. This circular shelf, which I bought last weekend and am in love with.

SEVEN. Having a good cry. I know that sounds strange, but sometimes you just need it.
