3 Things From The Past Week // 10

1 | This is the first time in a long time that I haven't had a blog post go up during the week. I haven't had any ideas on what to post about. None. I'm a little disappointed in myself but now is when I'm glad I started this series. This is the time when it's really helpful. When I don't have any ideas on what to post about, at least I'm still getting something out there once a week.

It's mid-October and I'm already retreating into hibernation mode. I haven't been blogging as much, reading as much, on Twitter as much. I've been sleeping in too long on the weekdays since it's so dark when I wake up that it looks like it's the middle of the night. And with the sun setting so early, by 8 PM I'm ready to call it a night work-wise, when usually that's the time I'm just getting started. I stopped making the most of my time. Maybe now that I've realized it, I'll start again.

2 | I think I want to try to knit a blanket this winter. All I've ever knit is a couple of scarves. Doing a blanket would be a new challenge.

3 | One of my friends asked me, "What's the best compliment you've ever received?" I think a person's answer to this question reveals the kind of person they want to be. It reflects what they strive for. The compliments we hold closest aren't necessarily ones we find are true, but ones we would feel happiest about if they were.

The best compliment I've ever received was that I had a magnetic personality. I love the thought of that. I'm often worried about annoying or boring other people, so it's nice to think that there's at least one person out there who thinks my personality doesn't push people away but draws them in.

As humans, we often spend a lot of time self-critiquing and self-doubting. It's good to take a moment to reflect on compliments you've been given and traits you like about yourself. What's the best compliment you've ever received?
