3 Things From The Past Week // 14

Sunday, November 19, 2017

It has been a rough few days. I've been anxious and frustrated and sad and overwhelmed. I've been annoyed at myself for feeling those things. It's felt like two steps forward and one step back.

Today was better. Not totally absent of those feelings, which, considering it's my birthday, is disappointing, but such is life.

I'm 25 now. Still anxious, still human, still trying. But proud, and happy.

1 | My friends at work surprised with me birthday treats Friday afternoon. Mini cookies, cupcakes, a signed "Happy Birthday Dad" card, and the game "What Do You Meme?" which we had been debating buying for a while, but then they ended up getting it for me (it's hilarious and fun). I felt very special that afternoon.

2 | This morning I woke up to a kiss and a hug, and even though he always makes fun of me for liking brunch so much, my boyfriend went out to brunch with me today. We went to a place nearby that we hadn't been to before. It was delicious. And on the way home, we picked up some Starbucks, because why pass up a free birthday drink?

3 | In the card/letter that my older sister gave me, she wrote that the time between 25-30 is "where you learn about what you want, what you'll do for what you want, and what you won't do for what you want." I have been keeping that in mind. And I'm looking forward to finding that out.

Btw, I'll be putting up my usual annual birthday-based post later this week.
